General Breed Information
Due to the decrease in number of the modern day bulldog, the creation of a better bulldog was started. Carlos Woods started breeding the Olde Victorian Bulldog in 1988, in an attempt to create a bulldog breed that is healthier than the current ones. The breeds used for the development of the Olde Victorian Bulldog include the American Bulldog, Staffy Bull, Olde Bulldogge, German Boxer, and English Bulldog.
Olde Victorian Bulldogs are large and muscular, with a height that ranges from 17 to 19 inches and a weight that falls between 55 and 100 pounds. They have a large, square head with a short muzzle. Their large, round eyes are brown and full of expression, and they have medium-sized floppy ears. They have many wrinkles on their face, particularly on their forehead. The neck of these dogs is short and thick, with a dewlap. Their shoulders are broad, and they have a deep chest and slightly sunken stomach. Their short legs lead to large, round feet. Olde Victorian Bulldogs have a short, sleek coat that is similar to that of other bulldogs. The acceptable coat colours for this breed include tan, fawn, white, brindle, and black brindle. These colours can also have some white mixed in.
Olde Victorian Bulldogs can live for as long as 10 to 14 years.
