The Bosanski Ostrodlaki Gonic Barak is a hunting dog breed that originated in Bosnia. These doga are scenthound that were originally used for hunting large game. At first, this breed was called the Illyrian Hound, after the pre-Slavic people of the area. Modern dogs of this breed are descendants of indigenous dog types that were crossed with Italian gun dogs during the 1890s. In 1965, this breed was recognized by the Fédération Cynologique Internationale under the name of Illyrian Hound. The name was changed to Bosanski Ostrodlaki Gonic Barak to more accurately describe the dog's area of origin in Bosnia. This breed has not gained recognition from any major kennel club, although many minor kennel clubs, rare breed registries, and Internet dog registry businesses are promoting it and registering it as a unique pet.

Dogs of this breed have a height of 18 to 22 inches and a weight of 35 to 53 pounds. Their body length is around 10% more than their height. The most distinctive feature of these dogs is their hard, shaggy coat that comes in colours of grey, yellow, wheaten, or red. These dogs often have a white blaze on their head, along with other white markings. The tail of these dogs is curved slightly upward, and their face has a bushy beard and mustache.
