Origin / History A Jack Russell is the short legged version of the Parson Russell terrier.

Appearance

Colours White with black, tan or lemon markings on head and root of tail. Sometimes all white.

Temperament Lively, affectionate,

Height and Weight 30.5 -35.5cm in height and 6.5 - 6.25 Kg in weight. Males are slightly larger at the top end of the ranges.

Common Health Problems An alround healthy breed. As with many small breeds may suffer from dislocating knee caps. May also suffer deafness and Legg Perthes disease.

Living Conditions Happy in both the country or urban towns. When living in a town they are best suited to houses with a garden for them to explore and have regular playtimes in. garden needs to be fully secure to prevent escape.

Exercise Requirements Will get by with the basic standard daily walk, but will certainly enjoy more frequent or longer outings.

Training Requirements An average breed when it comes to training. They retain there hunting instinct and are not easy to teach the recall off lead. With firm and consistent training and a fair amount of patience they will do okay.

Life Expectancy 14 - 15 years.

Grooming The 2 coats coats, both smooth and rough require just a once a week good brush to remove dead hairs and skin.
