Appearance
Colours Can be particolour or tricolour. Usually its black and white, but sometimes blue merle, or brown, white and red.

Weight 45 - 53 cm in height and 14 - 22 Kg in weight. Males are generally slightly larger than the females.
Common Health
Problems Considered a fairly healthy breed, however it is known to suffer from some eye disorders including progressive retinal atrophy and collie eye anomaly. May also suffer from joint problems. It's recommend that buyers of puppies should make sure breeding stock is hip scored and that the pups have had hearing tests.
Living Conditions A very active breed which is most suited to life in the country with a large garden. Not really suited to town life and certainly not suited to an apartment.
Exercise
Requirements A very active breed which needs lots of exercise and mental stimulation. A couple of long daily walks, including time free running off the lead. Will also enjoy obedience and agility training sessions. Activities life this will keep him mental stimulated and a happy and healthy dog.
Training Requirements An excellent breed of dog when it comes to training. A highly intelligent dog that does very well at obedience and agility, which it can learn to a high level.
Life Expectancy 12 - 14 years.
Grooming There are two different coat types, smooth and long coat which have different grooming requirements. the smooth coats need just a good brush once a week to remove dead hairs and skin. the long coats needs daily brushing to prevent tangles and matting.
