Tips for Choosing a dog name
It is recommended that you keep dog names
to one or a maximum of 2 syllables where possible to make
it easier for your dog to recognize. Short one or two syllable names make the best dog names because its also something you can call out quickly in an emergency.
Its advisable not to choose a dog name that is actually similar to same word as a training command, like SIT, DOWN, etc. Also, ideally not words similar to the word NO. It has been known in advance obedience trial for dogs with names similar to some commands to make a mistake and cost them in the competition.
Alot of people like to choose from the most typically doggy favourite common names. Others like myself like to choose something slightly different and unique to us. The choice is entirely yours.
