General Breed Information

The Sealydale Terrier is a dog breed that originated in Grahamstown, South Africa and was developed only during the 20th century. The Sealyham and Airedale Terriers were used for the creation of this breed. Sealydale Terriers are used as family companions.

Sealydale Terriers have a height that ranges from 12 to 13 inches and a weight that falls between 18 and 22 pounds. These dogs are solid and robust terriers. They are often likened to Jack Russell Terriers, but Sealydale Terriers have a coat that is slightly rougher. These dogs have a white coat and may have black, fawn, biscuit, or tan markings on their head and body.

This breed gets along well with children and other dogs. Owners of Sealydale Terriers should brush the coat of their dogs occasionally and bathe them when necessary.
