General Breed Information

The Kemmer Feist is a dog breed that is named after its creator, Robert Kemmer. This breed was created by crossing Mountain Curs, Fox Terriers, and Old Timey Mountain Feists. These breeds have excellent scenting abilities, making the Kemmer Feist a great hunting dog. Unfortunately, there are only very few specimens of this breed left, and some of them have even been crossed with other dogs.

Kemmer Feists are small, perky looking dogs that are often compared to Rat Terriers. Kemmer Feists have a height of approximately 15 inches and a weight that ranges from 14 to 20 pounds. These dogs have a small, round head and a narrow muzzle. Their ears naturally hang down but are often cropped. They have a short, skinny neck, and short legs with small paws that are rabbit-like. The small body of these dogs is covered by short and sleek fur. Their coat can come in two colour combinations: black, tan, and white, or white with varying shades of tan.

When properly taken care of, these dogs can live for around 10 to 12 years. These dogs are easy to groom. They should just be brushed once a week. The coat of these dogs do not need trimming, and they seldom need baths.
