General Breed Information

The Grand Anglo-Francais Blanc et Orange is a variation of the Grand Anglo-Francias. It is, however, still considered a separate breed. This breed was developed in France in the 19th century. Dogs of this breed were used for large game hunting, usually for tracking wild boar and roe deer. The breeds used for the creation of the Grand Anglo-Francais Blanc et Orange are the English Foxhound and the Gascon Saintongeois, along with other French hounds.

The height of these dogs ranges from 23 1/2 to 27 1/2 inches. They have a flat and rather broad skull, and their head is short and broad. The muzzle of these dogs is fairly short and ends in an orange brown or black nose. They have a complete set of evenly spaced teeth that meet in a scissors bite. The eyes of these dogs are large and dark in colour, and their thick ears are set at eye level. Their neck is straight with a slight dewlap. These dogs have a short coat that isn't too thick. The acceptable coat colours are white and orange, or white and lemon. The orange colour of their coat must not be reddish.

These dogs are said to live for around 10 years.
