General Breed Information

The French White and Orange Hound is a breed that belongs to the family of French Hounds. This breed is very rare and was only recognized in 1978. The French White and Orange Hound was created by crossing various French Hounds with the Billy. Dogs of this breed are excellent scenthounds and family companions. This breed has been granted official recognition by the Fédération Cynologique Internationale and the American Rare Breed Association.

These dogs have a deep chest and well-sprung ribs. Their head is fairly long and large. They also have a slightly domed skull with a slight stop. The nose bridge of these dogs is slightly curved, and they have flews covering their lower lip. Their nose is orangish-brown in colour and they have dark-coloured eyes. These dogs have a fairly thick tail and coat that is thick, dense, and lies close to their body. Their coat is white and orange in colour, but it can also be lemony.

French White and Orange Hounds can get along well with children and other canines. They might need to be supervised when other pets are around because of their hunting instinct, but they are generally good with other animals when properly introduced to them.
