The Dogue Brasileiro is a breed that originated in Brazil and was created during the 1980s. This breed was developed by crossing the Boxer with the Bull Terrier. The Dogue Brasileiro was bred to be guard dogs, and Brazilians often bring these dogs with them in their cars when they travel so that they can be sure that they're protected. As family companions, these dogs are protective, obedient, and loyal.

Male dogs of this breed have a height that ranges from 21 to 23 inches and a weight that falls between 55 and 88 pounds. Females have a height of 20 to 22 inches and a weigh tof 48 to 81 pounds. The Dogue Brasileiro has very strong muscles that are long and marked. Dogs of this breed have strong bones, and appear to be quick and strong. Their neck is medium in length and is slightly arched. They have muscular and strong arms and shoulders, and their paws look similar to that of a cat. These dogs have relatively loose, thick skin, but they don't have a dewlap. Their fur is dense, short, shiny, and rough. They may come in any colour combination of white, tan, black, and brown.

The Dogue Brasileiro has a life expectancy of around 12 to 13 years. Owners should brush the coat of these dogs regularly and bathe them only when necessary.
