Also known as French Orange and White Hound, the Chiens Francaises is a dog breed that originated in France. Dogs of this breed hunt in packs for big game. The breed standard for the Chiens Francaises was published in 1965. Fédération Cynologique Internationale recognizes this breed.
Dogs of this breed have a height that ranges from 26 to 29 inches and a weight that falls between 62 and 66 pounds. These dogs look elegant, with a muscular build. Their nose is black, with well-opened nostrils. These dogs have eyes that are large and brown in colour, sometimes with a ring of black around it. They also have an intelligent expression. Their ears are slightly turned and hang down the sides of their face. These dogs have a well-supported back and a well let down chest that reaches the point of their elbows. Their abdomen is very slightly raised. The tails of these dogs is quite long and is carried high. The Chiens Francaises has broad forelimbs and long shoulders. The short and smooth coat of these dogs orange and white in colour.
