General Breed Information

Schnoodles are first-generation crosses, with two purebred parents, one being a Poodle and the other a Schnauzer.Schnoodles may have the hair and coarse/wiry body shape of the Schnauzer or they may inherit the softer curly hair and slimmer body type of the poodle. These dogs do not shed so may prove ideal for some people who may have shown signs of allergic reactions to other dogs.

Schnoodles ideally inherit the best character traits of their parents - Schnauzers are intelligent, sociable, affectionate and protective while the poodle is clever, active and responds well to training. Scnoodles make excellent family pets and are suitable for children; they thrive on interaction. They are very energetic dogs and require plenty of outdoor excersice, play and stimulation.

As with poodles, schnoodles may develop a large amount of hair in the ears that will need to be removed to prevent infections. On average Schnoodles weigh between 7to 16 pounds when fully grown.
