Poovanese are lively dogs and will require daily outdoor exercise to keep them in optimum health. They make excellent family pets and respond well to training being intelligent and alert dogs.
One of the main health issues known to affect the Hoovanese is yeast infections due to the hairs in the ears - these hairs should be plucked out on a regular basis. Poovanese live typically from 12 to 14 years.
