General Breed Information
The Pootalian is not a purebred dog being a cross between the Italian Greyhound and the Poodle. Pootalians are recognised by the The Designer Breed Registry and the The International Designer Canine Registry.Pootalians have a very distinctive look, typically thin to very slim in build with wavy coats and most have the ears of the Poodle and the body of the Greyhound.The Pootalians coat requires light trimming around the face, feet and also the tail area.
Sharing the placid natures of the greyhound with the intelligence of the poodle, Pootalins are friendly, happy, alert dogs eager to please their owners and fast at learning new commands. They make good family pets. Being part Greyhound they will enjoy plenty of outdoor exercise and running.
When fully grown Pootalians typically weigh between 9 to 16 pounds and they are a healthy breed with no known health problems associated with these dogs. If cared for propely they can expect to live for up to 14 or 15 years on average.
