General Breed Information

The Eskapoo is not considered a purebred dog, but rather as a hybrid or designer breed. It is a cross between the Poodle and the American Eskimo Dog. This breed is recognized by the Designer Dogs Kennel Club and the American Canine Hybrid Club under the name Pookimo. Dogs of this breed make excellent family companions because of their affectionate, quirky, and friendly disposition.

Eskapoos have a height that falls between 14 and 15 inches, and a weight that ranges from 13 to 20 pounds. These dogs may be small to medium in size. They have a compact frame and are well built. Eskapoos are muscular, sturdy, and hardy in appearance, and they have a lively expression. These dogs have a double coat, with a soft and dense undercoat, and an outer coat that may be straight, slightly wavy, or curly. The coat colours of these dogs include brown, grey, apricot, beige, black, and white. They may also have some white markings on their tail and paws. Their coat needs to be brushed regularly to prevent tangling and matting. The ears of these dogs should also be kept clean to prevent infections.

The common health problems that may affect Eskapoos include epilepsy, hip dysplasia, progressive retinal atrophy, diabetes, and skin problems.
