General Breed Information

The English Boodle was created by crossing the Poodle with the English Bulldog. This breed is considered a hybrid or designer dog rather than a purebred dog. This dog is recognized by the Designer Dogs Kennel Club and the American Canine Hybrid Club under the name of Boodle. English Boodles serve as excellent family companions. They also make good watch dogs.

English Boodles can be small to average-sized, with a height that ranges from 12 to 16 inches and a weight that falls between 12 and 55 pounds. These dogs have a large head, with facial features and ears that are average in size and dark in colour. The coat of these dogs is short and may be wavy or curly, or straight and fine. They should be brushed on a regular basis, and bathing should be done only when necessary.

These dogs are susceptible to getting skin infections and developing heart disease. The average life span of English Boodles is 8 to 10 years.
