General Breed Information

The Boxerdoodle was developed by crossing two different pure breeds: the Poodle and the Boxer. It is not considered as purebred, but rather as a designer or hybrid dog. Boxerdoodles are usually acquired to be family companions, but they can be excellent watch dogs as well.

Boxerdoodles are well-built, agile, and strong dogs that may be small or medium in size. These dogs appear hardy, are well-muscled, and have a sweet expression. They have a height that ranges from 10 to 25 inches and a weight that falls between 12 and 70 pounds. Their head is average-sized, with a short muzzle. They also have a well-muscled neck with an average length. These dogs have shoulders that are slightly sloping and limbs that are strong. Boxerdoodles also have a level back, straight forelegs, and well-angled hind legs. Their coat can be very curly, long and wavy, or short and dense. The common coat colours are fawn, black, white, and red. They may either be solid or patterned.

The coat of these dogs should be brushed daily. It's also important that their ears are kept clean so that infections are prevented.
