General Breed Information
The Aussiedoodle, also known as the Aussiepoo, is a cross between the Poodle and the Australian Shepherd. It is not considered a purebred dog, but rather as a hybrid or designer dog. This breed has been granted recognition by the Designer Dogs Kennel Club and the American Canine Hybrid Club.
Aussiedoodles are lithe, muscular, and agile dogs that can have a height of 14 to 23 inches and a weight of 25 to 70 pounds. These dogs have eyes that can come in a wide variety of colours, including golden brown, blue, and dark brown. The coat of these dogs is medium length and may be either straight or wavy. Aussiedoodles are considered as low shedding dogs, with a coat that is softer than that of a Poodle. The coat colours of these dogs may be solid or patterned. Common coat colours include liver, red and white, red and tan, and red merle.
The average life expectancy of Aussiedoodles is 12 to 15 years. The coat of these dogs should be brushed on a regular basis, and their ears should also be checked regularly for infections.
