History
Appearance Broad head with rather long muzzle and flat hanging ears. Short body, which is deep chested with well sprung ribs. Legs rather long and strong boned.
Colours Solid yellow, black or chocolate.

Weight 54-62 cm in height and 25-34 Kg in weight. Males are larger than females and at the top end of the size ranges.
Common Health
Problems Considered a healthy breed but may suffer from hip or even elbow malformation. Also eye problems and lack of thyroid hormone.
Living Conditions Ideally suited to life in the country but also do well in towns so long as they have access to a secure garden and get plenty of exercise.
Exercise
Requirements An active breed which needs lots of walking everyday to maintain a fit and healthily state. Sometimes they have a tendency to become lazy and if allowed will become couch potatoes and soon become overweight. This should be avoided by providing the much needed exercise.
Training Requirements An easy breed to train and they do best with fun reward based training methods.
Life Expectancy 12 years.
Grooming The short thick coat just needs a good brush once a week to remove dead hair and skin. An all year round heavy moulting breed.
