Origin / History One of the oldest breeds of Spaniel. The Clumber Spaniel is the only spaniel breed which doesn't originate from The English Springer.

Appearance A medium length broad head with lobe long hanging ears. fairly broad, deep chested body with well sprung ribs. medium length strong boned legs.

Colours Usually black and white or liver and white, both with tan markings.

Temperament Active, energetic, affectionate.

Height and Weight 48 - 51 com in height and 22 -24Kg in weight.

Common Health Problems A fairly healthy breed, but may suffer from progressive retinal atrophy. Also a breed prone to the rare disease, fucosidosis, which affects the dogs nervous system.

Living Conditions A working breed which is only suited to life in the country where it can get long and interesting walks and plenty of free running time. Any property requires a securely fenced garden to prevent escape.

Exercise Requirements A very active working dog breed which needs plenty of walks and free running time to use up some of there endless energy.

Training Requirements Eager to please and intelligent breed which is relatively easy to train.

Life Expectancy 14 years.

Grooming The long dense coat needs a daily brush to keep it free of tangles and prevent matting. The coat will also need extra attention after any wet and muddy walks
