Origin / History The brittany is a one of the smallest gun dogs from France.

 

Appearance

Colours Particoloured or tricolored including colours white and orange, black and white, liver and white.

Temperament Energetic, affectionate,

Height and Weight 46 - 51 cm in height and 13.5 to18 Kg in weight.

Common Health Problems Breed may suffer progressive retinal atrophy, hip malformation, as well as epilepsy and skin problems.

Living Conditions A breed that is suited to the country, with lots of space for running around and plenty of long walks. Not suited to town life.

Exercise Requirements An active working dog that requires alot of exercise and daily mental stimulation. Will need to be walked for a good couple of hours a day, including lots of time off the lead running. Ideally suited to obedience and especially agility training and trials.

Training Requirements A breed that is eager to learn. Very suited to obedience and agility. Do best with calm reward based training methods.

Life Expectancy 13 - 15 years.

Grooming The flat lying, medium length coat needs a good brush a couple of times a week.
