Argentine Dogo

Added a great breed today, the Argentine Dogo along with plenty of great dogo pictures, including plenty of Argentine Dogo puppy pics.

They are not recognized as a breed here in the UK, in fact it is illegal to actually own one as they come under the 1991 Dangerous Dogs Act.

In those countries they are allowed they certainly need strong and firm owners. They are a powerful and muscular breed.

Here's a picture which shows 2 at a time, from Raul Tradicion Argentina Dogos

American Water Spaniel and Anatolian Shepherd Dog

Just added a page on the American Water Spaniel a little known breed here in the UK, although it is recognised by our Kennel Club, as you might expect in the Gun dog category.

As of yet I haven't sourced any pictures to to add to the page.

However I do have some great photos of my next breed, a giant of a dog breed the Anatolian Shepherd Dog.

Picture below with thanks again to Serbulent Ozgiray,.

The above dog is one from Turkey.

American Bulldog Breed Page

I have just added a page dedicated to the American Bulldog. A popular U.S breed, which is quite a bit different from our well known English Bulldog breed, from which the American Bulldog originated.

I got this great photo of Ripley, a Johnson American Bulldog. The photo was sent in by Emma who runs Emma, Ripley Wrinkles. Her site has plenty more pics of other American bulldogs, Chevy and Bubbaas well as information. She also provides some good infomation on Hip dysplasia and joint problems which she says can be helped greatly by "feeding a natural diet and supplementing with large doses of Ester-C".

Alaskan Malamute Dog Breed

Today I added a good page dedicated to Alaskan Malamute dog breed.

An ancient breed which is well known in history for assisting Admiral Richard Byrd to the South Pole. They are not a common breed, mainly due to be a working dog breed for jobs you don't often see performed on a daily basis.

Check out this picture of an Alaskan Malamute sent in by Stuart www.sledog.com.

Akbash Shepherd Dog or Polar Bear?

Added a page to the site on the Akbash Shepherd Dog breed which looks just like a Polar bear, the Akbash Shepherd Dog. Its a Turkish breed, so not one recognised by the UK Kennel Club.

Is it a Polar bear or is it a dog????

Plenty of dog pictures still being and to be added!!!

Well I'm still buried in emails. People have been so generous in sending me there dog pictures, which now cover a wide range of breeds, the vast majority of people have sent me multiple pictures and most of the time I add them all. It's quite time consuming, I have to create the pages, rename and resize them all, and then put them in the site one at a time.

I've been working the whole day and am still left with just over 100 emails to go through, as fast as I'm getting through them I'm being sent more. Don't get me wrong, I'M NOT COMPLAINING. Its great to see the site evolving so fast. I've had many good compliments on it. The simple site design is working great as when pictures are added they stand out beautifully.

Here's some examples of today's pages and pictures:
Hungarian Vizsla Pictures
Argentine Dogo Pictures

For both there's great mixture of adult dogs and puppies. By coincidence, I got sent pictures from at least 2 sets of people.

Yesterday, I didn't blog. Before my day had begun I made the decision to be very focused. Sometimes its easy working on the net to just drift on and do other things, like check hits stats and the like. We so many emails coming I just had to get real focused and try and keep on top of them.

Anyway, anyone reading I hope you enjoy the pictures, and if you have some to send,,,please do so!!!

Where to find copyright free photos??

I've been looking around today and I just can't work out where to find a source of free to use photos or pictures that are copyright free that I could use for the web site. It's so frustrating as the internet is full of dog photos and I'm not sure which ones I can use. I don't want to use any without the correct permission.

I guess in time I should be able to get photos of most breeds by contacting individual dog web sites but thats going to take me weeks, if not months.
